The Delavan Diamond Series 8800 Pump on the left and the conventional cast iron pump on the right were tested using double the recommended rate of Roundup® mixed with water:

The pumps ran side by side at 1000 RPM and 40 PSI,
pumping from the same tank of Roundup® solution |
|
|
|
After running four hours at continuous duty, the pumps were disconnected and soaked in the solution for 24 hours
|
|
|
|
Afterwards, the pumps were reconnected and run at continuous duty and checked every 24 hours until the cast iron pump had lost 50% of its flow |
|
|
|
From this point, the Diamond Series continued to run 10 times longer than the cast iron pump, after which the pump was still in like-new condition |
